Poet Tree—Root, Branch & Sap
Conversations With God
I have a wry sense of humor. A lot of people don’t get it. If humor is funny because it contrasts odd things in unexpected ways, then the best humor isn’t all that funny. The best humor is ridiculously weird in my opinion. Poet Tree—Root, Branch & Sap spans some fifty years of life.
Most of my poetry was written pretty early in life. It’s not profound, though it likes to pretend differently. And you need to know in advance that I have a wry sense of humor. So does God, and maybe that’s why we get along. If humor is funny because it contrasts odd things in unexpected ways, then the best humor isn’t all that funny. The best humor is ridiculously weird. I often says that I am half joking. Some call it joking on the square. Mostly, my poetry is just raw emotion looking for a connection, an idea looking for a place to be. Like most poetry it sings lonely songs decorated with hopeful expectations. Much of it is existential angst tinged with light-hearted silliness.
Order Poet Tree—Root, Branch & Sap for a nostalgic look into my past. I hope you won’t hold it against me.
